Report: Angels sold to Phoenix businessman

? The Walt Disney Co. agreed in principle to sell the Anaheim Angels to Phoenix businessman Arturo Moreno for just over $180 million, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.

The newspaper cited anonymous sources familiar with the deal in its report, which was posted on its Web site.

“We haven’t received anything final with anyone, and we know they are negotiating with that gentleman,” Bob DuPuy, baseball’s chief operating officer, told The Associated Press.

“If and when they reach a final agreement, they would contact us. Nothing has been submitted.”

Cubbage, Cloninger return to Red Sox

Boston — Boston Red Sox coaches Mike Cubbage and Tony Cloninger were back with the team for Tuesday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Cubbage returned to the third base coach’s box where he collapsed in a diabetic seizure three days before. Cloninger, the pitching coach who has bladder cancer, was back for the first time since opening day.

Cloninger was not in uniform, instead watching the game in the clubhouse. He hopes to be ready to resume his full duties in two or three days.

“I’m ready to go,” he told a pool reporter.
