Fishing report

CLINTON LAKE (4-10) — Water 52 degrees and 3.4 feet below normal pool. Walleye fair using crankbaits, rogues and rattletraps at night along dam rip-rap. It’s spawn time for walleye. Note: Nearby Lake Henry was stocked with 1,000 trout March 13.

PERRY LAKE (4-10) — Water 51 degrees and 6.5 feet below normal pool. Channel catfish poor using stinkbait in shallows. White bass fair in creek channels using spoons or twisters. Spawn will begin soon. Fish won’t make it past Valley Falls if it doesn’t rain. White crappie poor on tube jigs or minnows. Fish are moving into shallower water on warm days. Note: Officials tagged 500 10-inch crappie. Anyone who brings a tag to the park office will receive a free hat or T-shirt.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (4-10) — Crappie poor using jigs at about 10-15 feet.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (4-10) — All species slow. Warmer temperatures should stimulate activity this week.

LONE STAR LAKE (4-10) — No report. Warmer temperatures should enhance fishing for a variety of species, including crappie and largemouth bass.

LAKE SHAWNEE (4-10) — Rainbow trout fair using small rooster tails, roadrunners and powerbait. Wiper fair using jigs and spoons over structure at 15-20 feet.
