No. 1 Olathe South beats FSHS girls soccer

Olathe — Free State High’s girls soccer team fell to Olathe South in frigid conditions, 5-0, Monday at Olathe District Activities Center.

The Falcons are ranked No. 1 in Class 6A.

“We just got beat by a better team tonight,” Free State girls soccer coach coach Jason Pendleton said.

“They were phenomenal in every aspect of the game. We competed hard but came up short.”

Pendleton cited Meredith Mayo and Emilie Humbarger for their performances.

The Firebirds (3-2) will have some time to recover, not playing again until April 15 against Olathe East at ODAC.
