If you want to find some unique clothes that nobody else will be wearing, try stores that carry secondhand clothes. You’ll find vintage dresses, clunky shoes, crazy patterns and ’70 T-shirts.

Downtown Lawrence has stores like the Arizona Trading Co., 734 Mass., and Sugartown Traders, 918 Mass. Don’t forget the Goodwill Industries store at 2200 W. 31st St.

If you’ve purged Lawrence of all of its fashion finds already, plan a trip to Kansas City. There are several secondhand clothing stores a few blocks north of KU Med along 39th Street. Take a right on Main Street from 39th and another on Westport Road, and you’ll hit several more stores with unique finds.
