Lee’s Summit, Mo. ? The Lawrence High and Free State High gymnastics teams took fifth and sixth place in the seven-team Lee’s Summit Invitational on Saturday.

Molly Hoss led the Lions’ charge, finishing in sixth place on floor and bars.

Free State’s Lacey Baxter finished sixth in the all-around competition after placing sixth on vault, fifth on floor and fourth on beam.

Up next for the Lions and Firebirds is a quad at LHS at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Shawnee Mission East and Shawnee Mission South will also compete.
