Despite what the latest research says about the germ-killing power of alcohol-based hand-cleaning products, not all area hospitals are impressed.

Lawrence Memorial Hospital hasn’t bought into the alcohol revolution, spokeswoman Belinda Rehmer said.

“We still count on soap and water. It’s the best,” she said.

Spokesman Bob Hallinan said KU Med had almost completely transitioned to alcohol-based foams.
