Mable Corene Meier

Services for Mable Corene Meier, 83, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. Meier died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 31, 1919, in Ash Flat, Ark.

She moved to Kansas City in the 1940s where she resided until a 1998 move to Lawrence. Mrs. Meier spent most of her life as a homemaker, but she held a supervisory position with Putch’s restaurants for several years. She was a house mother for Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at Kansas University in the early 1980s and was a member of Church of Christ.

She married William Meier in 1946. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Bailey, Lawrence; a sister, Eunice Farless, Salem, Ark.; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
