The future groom is the son of Dallas and Sue Flowers, El Dorado, and Julie and Will Hall, Wichita. He is a El Dorado High School graduate and a Friends University graduate. He is employed by Aspen Energy and Flowers Production.

The couple plan a Sept. 28 wedding in Lawrence.

Harley and Darla Adams, Concordia, announce the engagement of their daughter Keri Lea Adams, Overland Park, to Mark Allen Hissong, Overland Park, son of Dottie Hissong, Oskaloosa, and Jim Hissong, Shawnee.

The future bride received a bachelor’s degree in life science from Kansas State University and a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Kansas University. She is employed by LabOne Inc. in Lenexa.

The future groom received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Pittsburg State University and a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from KU. He is employed by American Health Laboratory in Lenexa.

The couple plan an Oct. 26 wedding at Old Mission United Methodist Church in Fairway.

Robinson-Courtney

Gordon and Tereza Robinson, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter Melisa Robinson, Lawrence, to Adam Courtney, Topeka.

The future bride is a Lawrence High School graduate. She received an associate’s degree in fashion merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kansas University and plans to graduate in December. She is a products development intern at Gear For Sports in Lenexa.

The future groom is the son of Dean and Lennis Courtney, Topeka. He is a Shawnee Heights High School graduate. He received a bachelor’s degree in business finance from Washburn University. He is a financial examiner for the state of Kansas in Consumer and Mortgage Lending.

The couple plan an Oct. 12 wedding at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lawrence.

Trapp-Sharma

Glenn “Rick” and Patricia Trapp, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter Rebecca C. Trapp to Raj M. Sharma, both of Wichita.

The future bride is a 1995 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 2000 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in social welfare. She is an adoption social worker at Kansas Children’s Service League in Wichita.

The future groom is the son of Hem and Shirley Sharma, Wichita. He is a Wichita Heights High School graduate. He is a contractor with Mill-Tel Inc. in Wichita.

The couple plan a Nov. 23 wedding in Lawrence.

Weiss-Phillips

Jacquelyn Weiss and Douglas Phillips, both of Edinburgh, Scotland, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Arnold Weiss, Lawrence, and Sharon Budd, Mount Vernon, Wash. The future groom is the son of Frank and Elizabeth Phillips, Edinburgh.

The future bride is a Lawrence High School graduate. She received a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Tulane University, New Orleans, an RN from Middlesex University, London, and a master’s degree in public health from Tulane University. She works for the Health Education Board for Scotland and the UK film and television industry.

The future groom graduated from Balerno High School, Edinburgh, and attended Leeds University. He is currently serving in the Royal Air Force and stationed at Cosford Air Force Base in Shropshire, England.

The couple plan an Aug. 16, 2003, wedding in Seattle.

The bride is a 1990 graduate of Blanchester High School and a 1994 graduate of Wilmington College. She is an area manager for Shell Oil Co. in Apex, N.C.

The groom is the son of Bob Soey Bow and Sylvia Bong, Lawrence. He is a 1981 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1985 graduate of Kansas University. He is an academic coordinator at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C.

Bernie and Linda Faust, Overbrook, announce the engagement of their son Jared Faust, Overbrook, to Christine Shaffer, Berryton.
