Area Football Roundup: Rees helps Kaw clip Immaculata

? Noah Rees ran 16 times for 152 yards and three touchdowns as Perry-Lecompton beat Leavenworth Immaculata, 34-20, in high school football on Friday night.

Rees had touchdown runs of 5, 8 and 45 yards.

Jason Holladay also ran for a touchdown, and Paul Fultz caught an 83-yard pass from Adam Painter for Perry-Lecompton’s other touchdown.

Perry (2-1) will travel to Lansing on Friday.

Garnett  Anderson County led 13-0 at halftime, but Wellsville scored three touchdowns in the third quarter.

Gary Van Horn led the way on offense, defense and special teams.

He caught four passes for 139 yards, intercepted four passes, returned three punts for a total of 60 yards and kicked two late punts that pinned the Bulldogs inside their own 10-yard line.

Van Horn returned one of his picks 33 yards for a touchdown.

The Eagles (1-2) will play host to Prairie View on Friday.

Lansing  Sana Fe Trail fell behind 10-0 in the second quarter, but scored 26 unanswered points in the final three quarters.

“They dominated the first quarter,” SFT coach Bob Von Stein said, “and then we came back and scored right before the half, and in the second half we pretty much dominated the game running right at them.”

Shane Miles and Bryan Ganger each scored on the ground twice for the Chargers (3-0).

Ottawa  Gabe Sheffield was 13-of-22 passing for 163 yards and two touchdowns for the Cyclones, but also threw two interceptions which were returned for touchdowns.

Lee Baldwin caught nine passes for 88 yards and a touchdown for Ottawa (1-2).

The Cyclones will play host to Kansas City Turner on Friday.
