Stuart services

She was born June 18, 1923, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Otto H. and Minnie (Vendel) Icks. She graduated in 1941 from Oskaloosa High School.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Stuart was the co-owner and operator of the Old Bank Cafe and The Kitchen, both in Oskaloosa. They also owned and operated restaurants in Lawrence for 24 years. A cosmetologist for many years, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion, both of Oskaloosa.

She married George Franklin Stuart in 1947. He died May 11, 1992.

Survivors include a son, Jim, Baldwin; a daughter, Patricia Cobb, Topeka; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on the family from 1 p.m. until services begin Wednesday at the funeral home.
