Lewis Dale Freeman Jr.

He was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Lawrence, the son of Lewis Dale and Mary (Hawkins) Freeman. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the First Congregational Church and VFW Post 9271, both of Tonganoxie. He retired in 1991 as a heavy equipment operator in Kansas City, Kan.

He married Marjorie Louise Marvin on March 23, 1952, in Huntsville, Ark. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Cecil, Leavenworth, Dale, Brick, N.J., and Clifford, Bonner Springs; two daughters, Joice Leipard, Bonner Springs, and Nancy Drake, Salina; a brother, Galen, Latour, Mo.; seven half-brothers, Alvy, Neil and Rick, Bonner Springs, Earl, Kansas City, Kan., Robert and Stewart, Edwardsville, and Gary, Mission; a sister, Betty Jean Casteel, Oak Grove, Mo.; two half-sisters, Dalene Mulich, Bonner Springs, and Cheryl Drummond, Bucyrus; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
