Francisca Cortez Larios

Ottawa Services for Francisca Cortez Larios, 84, Ottawa, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dengel and Son Mortuary. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Larios died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at her home.

She was born March 12, 1918, in Ottawa, the daughter of Jose and Julina (Trejo) Cortez. She attended Ottawa High School.

Mrs. Larios was a homemaker and 50-year member of the First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Mexican Baptist Church, both of Ottawa. She was employed as a seamstress at H.D. Lee Company and later as an assembler at King Radio, both of Ottawa. She was a member of Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Ottawa Library Board and a volunteer worker during several local elections.

She married Delfino M. Larios Sr. on June 20, 1936. He died Oct. 15, 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Delfino M. “Sonny” Jr., Ottawa, and Jose A. “Butch,” Lawrence; four daughters, Carolina Coleman, Bedford, Mass., Marcelina Baer, Santa Barbara, Calif., Cristina Meharry, Olathe, Elizabeth Huff, Lawrence; two sisters, Gloria Alfaro and Rachel Cortez, both of Ottawa; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Julianna Cortez, died earlier.

Friends may call until service time at the funeral home, where the family will greet them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
