Marjorie Louise McCrum

She was born April 22, 1912, in Kingman, the daughter of Charles Clyde and Lena Ethel (Edwards) Zentz. She graduated from Kingman High School in 1930 and received her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg.

Mrs. McCrum had been employed as an elementary school teacher in the Fort Scott, Uniontown and Osawatomie school districts. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Scott. She was also a member of American Association of University Women, Delta Kappa Gamma, Lambda Kappa Delta, Bourbon County Retired Teachers Assn., Pierian Beta Club, Fort Scott Music Study Club and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She also helped organize the Beacon and was its first secretary.

She married Raymond E. McCrum on Aug. 3, 1932, in Kingman. He died Sept. 19, 1992.

Survivors include a niece, Meredithe McCormick, Lawrence.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday at the church.
