Carmen K. Collins

Services for Carmen K. Collins, 49, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton.

Ms. Collins died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 18, 1953, in Lawrence, the daughter of Henry Benjamin and Carolee Harker (Easdale) Collins. She grew up in Lawrence and Baldwin and graduated in 1971 from Baldwin High School.

Ms. Collins worked for the University of Missouri at Columbia. She moved back to Lawrence in 1989 and was a research aide, bookkeeper and grant writer at Kansas University.

Survivors include two sons, Brent Crouse, of the home, and Mitchell Crouse, Columbia, Mo.; and a brother, Douglas Collins, Olathe.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The family suggests memorials to the LMH oncology department through the hospital’s endowment association, sent in care of the funeral home.
