Susie A. Love

She was born Dec. 22, 1923, in Ness City, the daughter of the Rev. Oscar and Clara (Price) Matthew. She grew up in Rolla, Moscow, Goddard, Larned and Abbyville. She was senior class president at Abbyville High School, where she graduated in 1941. She attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. In 1988 she moved to Palmer Lake, Colo., and then to El Dorado in 1992.

Mrs. Love worked for the Hutchinson News and Kirk Motors, and was co-owner of the Camelot Inn for more than 11 years. She also had been a bookkeeper for Walter’s Flowers and Interiors and register of deeds for Reno County.

She was active in the Methodist Church in Hutchinson and El Dorado. She belonged to church circle, church choir and other church committees.

She married Dale Delbert Love on Jan. 18, 1942, in Hutchinson. He died June 5, 2002.

Survivors include three sons, Steve, El Dorado, Randy, Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., and Mike, Lawrence; a daughter, Beverly Love, Wichita; two brothers, Lowell Matthew, Port Townsend, Wash., and Lynn Matthew, Dunedin, Fla.; three sisters, Loreen Farkas, Phoenix, Marian Steedman, Evansville, Ill., and Evalyn Overin, Wailuku, Hawaii; and eight grandchildren.
