Adeline M. Stehno

Stratton, Neb. Services for Adeline M. Stehno, 79, Stratton, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stratton. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Stratton.

Mrs. Stehno died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

She was born June 30, 1923, in Rawlins County, Kan., the daughter of Joseph and Rosie (Kacirek) Janousek. She attended Prairie View Country School near her home and Notre Dame Academy in Omaha, where she graduated in 1941.

Mrs. Steno worked as a nurse from 1941 to 1946. She then lived on a farm north of Stratton for 46 years before moving to Stratton in 1992.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary and Busy Bee Club. She was also a 4-H leader for 20 years and a volunteer at Grandview for 19 years.

She married Raymond W. Stehno on Oct. 23, 1946, at St. John’s Catholic Church near Beardsley, Kan. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Janet Faimon, Perry, Kan., Karen Stute, Holdrege, Lynda, North Platte, and Anita Pochop, Atwood, Kan.; a son, Frank Stehno, Stratton; two sisters, Rose Marie Faimon, North Platte, and Beatrice Kanak, Atwood, Kan.; a brother, Jerome Janousek, Atwood, Kan.; a half-brother, Bernard Vrbas, West, Tex.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Grandview Retirement Center in Stratton. They may be sent in care of Forch Funeral Chapel, 205 Buffalo St., Benkelman 69021.
