Eudora’s middle school to close early Friday

Because of expected high temperatures, Eudora Middle School will release students early on Friday afternoon, school officials announced Thursday.

Students will be released at 1 p.m Friday, from the school. The middle school is the only school in the Eudora district that doesn’t have air conditioning throughout its building.

Ross Janssen, 6News meteorologist, says he’s forecasting 97 for Friday afternoon. But the humidity will make it feel about 105, Janssen said.

Although the middle school will release students eary, bus routes will remain on a normal schedule. So middle school students riding the bus have been asked to find another way to get home.

A study hall will be provided in an air conditioned portion of the building until the normal release time for students who are unable to find alternate transportation.
