Rain to stay away

Go ahead and wash your car. Get away for a picnic. Or even plan a parade.

The dry weather will continue for at least another week, Matt Makens , 6News meteorologist, said Tuesday.

“There is no rain in the forecast for at least six days, if not more,” Makens said. “It looks like it’s going to stay dry. . . .Tropical Storm Edouard, depending on its movement, could change our weather next week.”

Until then, the Lawrence area will see pleasant, end-of-summer weather, he said.

Tuesday’s high will be about 90, with clear skies.

The overnight low will be right around 60 degrees.

“You can open up the windows,” Makens said.

But Tuesday’s lower humidity and lower temperatures won’t stick around.

“But it will be short-lived as temperatures and humidity will increase again toward the end of the week,” Makens said.
