s Kitchen to feature ghoulish dishes

Join “Jayni’s Kitchen” this week for a “Halloween Show.”

Host Jayni Carey will prepare some treats, including the recipes below.

A new show airs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday each week on Sunflower Broadband Channel 6 and repeats at 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The show also is broadcast at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. Sunday and 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Microwave Caramel Corn

1 bag microwave (light butter) popcorn

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon dark corn syrup

pinch soda

Microwave the popcorn according to the instructions. Pour the popped corn into a large bowl and remove any unpopped kernels. Place the popped corn into a large brown bag.

Place the remaining ingredients in a microwavable container and microwave on full power for about 1 minute, stir and continue cooking until the mixture is melted and bubbly. Immediately pour the mixture into the bag, over the popped corn, shaking the bag to cover it as evenly as possible. Roll down the top of the bag to close and place it in the microwave. Microwave on high for 90 seconds. Every 30 seconds, remove the bag and shake; then turn over and return to the microwave. Spread the caramel corn on a large tray to cool. Serves 4.
