She was born July 31, 1911, near Eudora, the daughter of William J. and Sophie (Baecker) Selzer.

A homemaker, she worked at the Eudora Post Office during World War II.

Mrs. Sommer was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the St. Theresa Altar Society.

She married Paul Sommer on July 23, 1935, in Kansas City, Kan. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a sister, Imogene Scoles, Kansas City, Kan.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

The family suggests memorials to the Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery maintenance fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the mortuary.
