A special place

To the editor:

I don’t understand how you could let someone with such bogus and uninformed views publish what many at my school consider slander. I mean how could he say that we can’t make it? This school has a lower dropout percentage, most people here are “A” and “B” students, and there is less competition between cliques or should I say groups of people.

The letter to editor that I read was really insulting. I don’t know why, but it just gets me when people make assumptions about my school. When I graduate, I will have spent two-and-a-half years at this school and I will call it home for the rest of my life. The staff and students that I have met out here are really special people. The staff takes their time and make sure you learn the material, not just pass you by with the rest of the class. To me, it seems like the staff out here really wants you to do something with your life, not just work minimum wage and live paycheck by paycheck for the rest of your life.

Well, I hope this letter has some kind of influence on the way people feel about my school. Maybe this has changed someone’s mind about Lawrence Alternative High School; if not, at least you know how I feel about this place.

Eddie Vital,

Lawrence
