Mighty MANU awaits Baker

? Baker University faces a tough football homecoming test today.

Mighty MidAmerica Nazarene University undefeated and ranked No. 9 in the latest NAIA poll will serve as BU’s homecoming opponent.

Kickoff is 2 p.m. at Liston Stadium.

For Baker (3-4 overall, 3-3 Heart of America Conference) to snap a two-game losing streak, it will have to slow a powerful MANU offense. The Pioneers (6-0, 6-0) are second in the NAIA in total offense with 501.3 total yards per game and third in the country in rushing offense at 300 ypg.

MANU QB John Booth ranks fifth in the nation in total offense. He has thrown for 1,098 yards and is second in the HAAC with 625 rushing yards.

On the flip side, MANU leads the league in total (250.7 ypg), rushing (115.3 ypg) and scoring defense (12.0 ppg).

While Baker has struggled offensively BU ranks ninth in the league in total offense (245.6 ypg) and eighth in scoring offense (20.6 ppg) the Wildcats are right behind MANU in total defense (263.3 ypg) and rushing defense (116.7 ypg) and rank third in the league in scoring defense at 18.0 ppg.

Baker will honor Tom Hedrick, longtime football announcer, by naming the Wildcat press box at Liston Stadium after him before the game.
