Ernest C. Mullins

Baldwin Services for Ernest C. Mullins, 72, Albuquerque, N.M., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Baldwin. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin.

Mr. Mullins died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, in Albuquerque.

He was born May 14, 1930, in Sweet Springs, Mo., the son of John Edward and Fleeta Merle (Hensley) Mullins. He graduated from Windsor High School in 1949.

Mr. Mullins served in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked for Sunflower Ordnance Depot in DeSoto and was a production supervisor at DuPont in Tecumseh for 26 years before he retired in 1985. He also worked for Olathe Ford Tractor from 1988 to 1994.

A former Baldwin resident, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Lawrence for more than 30 years. He also was a member of the Honky Tonk Outlaws dance group.

He married Jewell K. Siscoe on Jan. 11, 1957, in DeSoto. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Darrel, Parkville, Mo.; six daughters, Gaylene Berberick, Georgia, Nancy Torneden, Tijeras, N.M., and Janet Mullins, Janet Kramer, Cheryl Mullins and Brenda Sandoval, all of Albuquerque; a brother, Paul, Florida; two sisters, Geneva Friend, Missouri, and Marie DuBouis, Kansas; and 14 grandchildren.

The family will meet with friends at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
