Storm rallies past BU

? Jason Kilmer rushed for 177 yards and scored twice and Robby Brosius threw a 26-yard pass for another score to lead Southern Nazarene to a 31-17 win over Baker on Saturday.

Baker was ahead 17-10 in the fourth quarter when Southern Nazarene scored three touchdowns, including runs of 2 and 82 yards by Kilmer.

“The team that was going to win was the team that did something in this wind,” BU coach John Frangoulis said. “They did and we didn’t. That’s the bottom line. It felt like a hurricane out there, but both teams play in the same conditions. They just took advantage of their opportunities.”

Southern Nazarene’s final touchdown came with 4:18 left when Brosius threw a 26-yard pass to Tim Selement, capping a five-play, 58-yard drive.

Baker scored on a 32-yard pass from Martin Updike to Bryan Williams and a 32-yard field goal by Nate Tubac.

Baker also scored on a 47-yard fumble recovery by Brett Wahlgren.

“The kids played hard, as they always do,” Frangoulis said. “We just missed opportunities, dropped too many balls. We need more consistency.”

The Crimson Storm in their first football season improved to 4-2, while Baker fell to 3-3.

The Wildcats will play host to William Jewell on Saturday. Kickoff will be 7 p.m. at Liston Stadium.
