George M. Donner

Mr. Donner died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, in Missouri City.

He was born April 8, 1942, in Baxter Springs, Kan., the son of George Washington and Ruth (Donner) Donner.

Mr. Donner was ordained as a Southern Baptist minister and pastored in Easton, Kan., from 1970 to 1973 and at First Southern Baptist Church in Oskaloosa, Kan., from 1978 to 1984. He worked for Kansas University from 1964 to 1978 and for the Lawrence, Kan., school district from 1982 until he retired in 1993. He was a member of Liberty Manor Baptist Church and was past president of Missouri City Lions Club.

He married Donna Adams on June 9, 1963, in Oskaloosa, Kan. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Jackie Chambers, Liberty, and Cheryl Reppy, Missouri City; a son, George Jr., Lawrence, Kan.; two sisters, Katherine Kelly, Lawrence, Kan., and Dolores Hornback, McLouth, Kan.; and eight grandchildren.

Friends will receive family from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Park Lawn Northland Chapel in Liberty, where there will be a Lions Rose Ceremony at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
