Health department offers flu shots

The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department will administer flu shots in the area starting next week.

The shots are for children and adults at high risk for severe illness or who could transmit the flu to a high-risk person. Younger people without chronic health problems are asked to wait to get shots until November.

The charge for a flu shot is $14. But no one will be denied service due to inability to pay.
