Kent Beisner of Lawrence shot a 77, good enough to tie for third place after the first day of the two-day Kansas Golf Assn. Senior Series Championship at Alvamar Country Club.

Beisner is tied at 77 with Bob Vidricksen of Salina.

Dave Auchard of Oskaloosa shot an opening-round 87, and John Lovgren of Ottawa registered a 95.

Ron Brewer of Leawood leads the tournament after shooting an opening-round score of 74. Don Cox of Lake Quivira is in second place after a 76.

The KGA event consists of two rounds of play with a 69-man field.
