The Lawrence 299ers Duplicate Bridge Club met Sept. 25 for its weekly game. Five tables competed in the stratified game that used a Mitchell movement and was directed by Don Brennaman. North-South Winners in A Strat were Chuck Hedges and Shirley Reese. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty were second in A and first in B. Helen Huffman and Bob Huffman finished first in A and B. Playing East-West, Artie Shaw and Bob Anderson finished second in A and B and first in C.

University Bridge Club announces winners of its Sept. 28 game, which was hosted by Carol and Al Smith.

The Pink winners were: Virginia Williams, first; Ailene Bocquin, second; Isabelle Schaake, third; Carolyn Jordan, fourth; and Carol Smith, fifth.

The Blue winners were: Paul Jordan, first; Marian Davis, second; Ed Stellmacher, third; Warren Lesh, fourth; and Don Whitaker, fifth.

The Lawrence Duplicate Bridge Club’s game Monday attracted nine tables of players. The game was stratified, used the Mitchell movement and was directed by Virginia Seaver.

The North-South winners were Mona Bell and Chuck Hedges, followed by Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough. Robert Anderson and Lynn Hui placed third, followed by Sally Taylor and Shirlie Vaughn.

The East-West winners were Virginia Seaver and Paul Heitzman, followed by Mary Treece and Barbara McCorkle. Patt Radford and John Hickey placed third, followed by Lois Clark and Russell LaForce.

Chuck Hedges and Lois Clark finished second in A and B and first in C. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty finished third in A and B.
