Baldwin snaps two-game skid, spanks Spring Hill, 49-20

? Shane Miles completed 16 of 20 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns, leading Santa Fe Trail to a 33-7 high school football victory against Tonganoxie.

“It was really rock ’em, sock ’em,” SFT coach Bob Von Stein said, “and the difference was our ability to pass.”

Brandon Elston caught 11 passes for 199 yards and a touchdown, and Dustin DeWitt caught Miles’ other two scoring passes.

Miles also scored on a nine-yard run.

Justin Walker scored Tongaonxie’s only touchdown on a 73-yard run in the first quarter.

Santa Fe Trail (5-0, 5-0 Kaw Valley League) will play at 7 p.m. at DeSoto on Friday. Tonganoxie (3-2, 3-1) will play host to Mill Valley at 7 p.m. Friday.

Baldwin 49, Spring Hill 20

Spring Hill Baldwin halted a two-game losing streak by hammering Spring Hill after scoring on every offensive possession of the first half.

Junior Micah Mason opened the scoring with a 33-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and the rout was on.

“We needed to get back on the winning track, get some confidence heading into next week,” Bulldogs coach Mike Berg said.

“Last week we had a lot of penalties. This week the penalties didn’t hurt us.”

Baldwin (3-2) will play host to undefeated Eudora next Friday in Baldwin.
