Lyle W. Waechter

Mexico, Mo. Services for Lyle W. Waechter, 66, Mexico, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Mexico. Burial will be in St. Brendan Catholic Church Cemetery.

Mr. Waechter died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

He was born Nov. 10, 1935, in Pioneer, Iowa, the son of Anthony and Agnes (Dahlhauser) Waechter. He received a bachelor’s of arts degree in psychology from the University of Iowa and an MSSW from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Mr. Waechter was a psychiatric social worker and had worked in Iowa, East Central Missouri Memorial Health Center and Missouri Girls Town. He was also a union carpenter, builder and contractor. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Waechter married Sue Dobozy on Sept. 13, 1960, in Leon, Iowa. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Tom, Lawrence, Kan.; two daughters, Teresa “Tess” Richardson, Milwaukee, and Cindy Mackenzie, Bellville, Wis.; three brothers, Verne, Ottosen, Iowa, Don, Houston, and Gary, Fort Dodge, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. today at Arnold Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to St. Brendan School, sent to the funeral home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico 65265.
