Tutoring volunteers sought

Agency: Youth Employment and Support Services

Contact Person: Ruby or Sherry

The YESS program needs volunteers to tutor students in its program from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Kansas Union. Volunteers may choose days but are expected to keep a consistent schedule. YESS will run a Kansas Bureau of Investigation background check and child abuse check.

In addition to tutoring, the program pairs children with mentors. Mentors are usually chosen to teach children skills they show an interest in, such as sports or a musical instrument.
