Royals-Rangers rained out; twinbill set

? Thursday night’s game between the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals was rained out and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday.

The first game on Sunday will start at 1 p.m., as scheduled, with the second game starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.

Jeremy Affeldt, scheduled to start Thursday’s game for Kansas City, will pitch tonight’s 6:05 game.

Chan Ho Park will start as scheduled today for Texas. Dave Burba, Thursday’s scheduled starter, will pitch Saturday for the Rangers against Kansas City’s Jeff Suppan.

On Sunday, the Rangers will go with Doug Davis and Ismael Valdez against Darrell May and Miguel Asencio.

The rainout could be viewed as a break for the Royals, who did not get back to town until 5 a.m. Thursday after finishing a West Coast road trip.
