Humphries headed to Duke

Duke has continued its remarkable run in college basketball recruiting.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s Blue Devils on Wednesday received an oral commitment from Kris Humphries, a 6-foot-8 high school senior-to-be from Minnetonka, Minn.

Humphries said he chose Duke over runnerup Kansas University and third-choice Minnesota.

“It was just a perfect fit,” Humphries told Charlie Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “I like the style of play at Duke, the coaching, the college, and it just all came together for me.”

His dad, William, said: “What was tough was saying no to the schools he didn’t choose. Kansas said they saw Kris as another Drew Gooden, but Kris saw himself as something different, handling the ball more, his own style of play.”
