Clayton Robert Bohnsack

He was born June 13, 1922, in Eudora, Kan., the son of Daniel Carl and Elizabeth Antoinette (Madl) Bohnsack. He moved with his family to the Wolco community in Osage County, Okla., where he attended Rural School District No. 72, Wolco, through the eighth grade before completing his education in Barnsdall Public Schools. He graduated from Barnsdall High School in 1940.

Mr. Bohnsack was an employee at Barnsdall Refinery until 1942, when he and his wife joined the Defense Corps. During their tenure with the Defense Corps, they traveled to Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas and worked on the Hanford Project in Oak Ridge, Tenn. They returned to Barnsdall in 1946, and he as employed with Harlem Oil Company, where he worked until going into business for himself. He ran an oil field servicing and drilling company, which progressed into a processing company. He retired in 1986. He had also worked in the investment business part-time.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Skiatook Masonic Lodge No. 416 AF&AM. He was also a past member of Bartlesville Moose Lodge.

He married Lily May Craig on Oct. 25, 1941, in South Coffeyville, Okla. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Daniel Craig, Nowata, Okla.; a daughter, Shelley Bohnsack, Barnsdall; a brother, Dana Carl, Nowata; and a granddaughter.

Friends may call until service time Wednesday at Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home.
