Lawrence School Board

School board to seek bids for excess property

Bottom Line

The Lawrence school board will be asked to seek sealed bids on a doublewide portable classroom at Quail Run School that is “in need of major repairs” and the “not usable” library media work station at Sunflower School.

Also, bids will be sought on unsafe playground equipment at Grant School, which closes this month.

Background

Tom Bracciano, director of facilities and operations, said district policy required board approval of public sales of excess school property.

He said none of the items was suitable for installation at other district schools. For example, Grant’s large metal slide, jungle gym and two merry-go-rounds don’t meet current safety standards.
