He was born Sept. 5, 1943, in Coalgate, Okla., the son of Arthur C. and Veda (Warren) Bond. He was a 1962 graduate of Whiting Rural High School in Jackson County. He moved to Kansas in 1955 and has lived in Perry since 1984, moving there from Lecompton.

Mr. Bond was an electrical lineman for 31 years, working for various companies and contractors, including Kansas Power & Light Co. He was medically retired in 1994, after working at PAR Electric Co., Grantville, for several years.

He was a member of Perry Christian Church and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local No. 304, Topeka.

He married Joyce Ann Jones Harding in September 1984 in Perry. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, James and Bobby, both of Kansas City, Kan., Christopher, Tucson, Ariz., and Brian, stationed with the military in Germany; a brother, Danny, Wichita; two sisters, Faye McAnulty, Oklahoma City, and Debbie Elkins, Coalgate, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
