KU men’s golf tied for 6th at regional

? Kansas University’s men’s golf team is tied for sixth after two rain delays at the 27-team NCAA Midwest Regional golf tournament at Pleasant Valley Golf Course.

The Jayhawks shot a second-round score of 290, good for 579 strokes after two rounds.

The top 10 teams will advance to the NCAA Tournament.

At 6:08 p.m., play was halted because of rain and never resumed. The second round will conclude early today with the final round to follow.

Oklahoma State leads with a two-round total of 568. Purdue sits in second place with a total of 569, followed by Oklahoma at 577.

“I think the team played well today, but struggled toward the end of the round,” KU golf coach Ross Randall said. “I don’t think we lost too much ground.”

Travis Hurst (140) shot a second-round total of 70. Casey Harbour (145) shot a 73, Chris Marshall (147) a 76, Tyler Hall (150) shot 74 and Andrew Price (158) added a 73.


NOTE: Second round wasn’t completed beacuse of thunderstorms and will be finished Saturday.
