John Leslie Bashor

Grandview, Mo. Services for John Leslie Bashor, 90, Kansas City, Mo., will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Grandview United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Longview Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Mo.

Mr. Bashor died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence, Kan.

He was born Nov. 15, 1911, in Union Star, the son of Austin Lincoln and Elva Mae (Barrett) Bashor.

Mr. Bashor worked for 33 years as an automotive mechanic for General Motors and at Joe’s Booth Tow Service.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Grandview United Methodist Church.

He married Lucille Hyke. They were married for 59 years. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Lou Peterson, Lawrence, Kan.; a son, Ronald; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
