As the state Legislature continues to demonstrate a lack of leadership, it is exactly the right time for local government to step up. Letting the Legislature “off the hook” would be allowing them to keep their jobs after this pathetic year of nonleadership. Punish them at the polls, not by allowing our local educational systems to suffer. The time is now for someone to demonstrate leadership that helps the children, not their own political agenda.
