Burglaries and thefts reported
A 49-year-old Lawrence man told Lawrence Police a leather nail bag, hand tools and other items valued at $5,845 were taken between 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 7:15 a.m. Monday from the 5200 block of Stonecreek Court. A front door was damaged during the burglary. Damage was estimated at $700.
Someone forced open a garage door in the 1100 block of East 19th Street, a 63-year-old Lawrence man reported to police Monday. Taken from the garage was a toolbox containing tools, a chainsaw and a metal cart. Total losses were listed at $3,100.
Lawrence Police are investigating the theft of a golf bag and golf clubs from a 1998 Jeep Wrangler. The theft occurred sometime during the early-morning hours Friday while the Jeep was parked in the 1600 block of Tennessee Street, a police report said. There was no sign of a break-in to the Jeep. The Jeep belonged to a 21-year-old Lawrence man, and the golf bag and clubs belonged to a 20-year-old Lawrence man. Losses were listed at $1,510.
