Broyles services

Baldwin Services for Marie J. Broyles, 90, rural Baldwin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Worden United Methodist Church, Baldwin. Burial will be in Worden Cemetery.

Mrs. Broyles died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at her home. She was born June 13, 1911, near Mount Clare, Neb., the daughter of Joseph Campbell and Tempie Ann (Howard) Madron.

She assisted with the family farm and was a member of Worden United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women at the church. She was active in her church and community.

She married Howard Andrew Broyles on Jan. 30, 1926, in Thedford, Neb. He died Nov. 26, 1984.

Survivors include three sons, Howard W. “Tom” Broyles, Woodland, Calif., H.L. “Bob” Broyles, Baldwin, and Donald Ray Broyles, Fort Collins, Colo.; a daughter, Dorothy Marie Layton, Hesston; a sister, Ida Goehring, Broken Bow, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

A grandson died earlier.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County or to Worden United Methodist Church Building Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
