Naomi Sims

? Services for Naomi Sims, 74, Fort Worth, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Community Christian Church, Fort Worth.

Mrs. Sims died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at a Fort Worth hospital.

She was born April 28, 1928, in Chamois, Mo., the daughter of James R. and Birdia Williams.

Mrs. Sims worked with her husband, the Rev. Paul A Sims Sr., in ministry, community development and political arenas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, at Jarvis Christian College, Hawkins, Tex.; and in Kentucky, Missouri, California and eastern Kansas.

Mrs. Sims was a member of the Community Christian Church, Fort Worth.

Survivors include five daughters, Rosa Sims, Susan Chavis, Johnnie Hernandez, and Priscilla Hubbard, all of Fort Worth, and Maude Johnson, Los Angeles; a son, Paul A. Sims Jr., Dallas; a foster son, Tommy Chenault, Forth Worth; a sister, Margaret Fishback, Denver; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Her husband and a son, Michael S. Sims, died earlier.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at Baker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. Monday for a wake at the Community Christian Church, 1800 East Victory Blvd.
