Deadline approaching on permits for antelope

? Kansas residents who want to hunt antelope must submit permit applications by June 14. Wildlife and Parks is mailing forms to last year’s applicants.

The firearms season will run Oct. 4-7. In two units of western Kansas, 135 permits will be available.

The muzzleloader season will Sept. 30- Oct. 3 and Oct. 4-7. (During the first segment of the muzzleloader season, only open or peep sights may be used.) Thirty-eight permits are available in three western Kansas units.

The antelope archery season will run Sept. 21-29, and applications will be accepted through Sept. 28. Unlimited archery permits are available, one per hunter.

Antelope permits are available to residents only. A general resident permit is $45.50, and a landowner-tenant permit is $25.50. This includes a $5 non-refundable service fee.
