During Free State’s Senior Week, which was held all of last week, the most serious prank was the egging of a few houses and a parentally approved duct-taping to a stop sign, neither of which is on a level with the thuggish behavior displayed on the other side of town. The Journal-World article implied that the hazing incidents were evenly dispersed on both sides of 15th Street, which is patently false.

While I realize that all the details have yet to come out regarding the incidents, the article did a disservice to Free State’s image, just as the hazers did a disservice to the thousand-plus students not involved at their high school.
