Mariam D. ‘Dee’ Richardson

? Services for Mariam D. “Dee” Richardson, 95, DeSoto, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at DeSoto United Methodist Church. Burial will be in DeSoto Cemetery.

Mrs. Richardson died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Royal Terrace Nursing Home, Olathe.

She was born July 17, 1906, in Ottawa, the daughter of Jeremiah C. and Sylvia A. (Vanlue) Tedrow. She grew up in Ottawa and moved in 1939 with her family to DeSoto.

Mrs. Richardson operated a laundry service out of her home for many years. She was also a cook for the day care at Sunflower Village School in what is now Clearview City.

She was a member of DeSoto United Methodist Church and Satisfied Seniors Card Club, DeSoto.

She married Frank E. Richardson on April 17, 1927, in Garnett. He died in 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Claude E. Richardson, Aransas Pass, Tex., and Frank T. Richardson, DeSoto; a daughter, Dixie J. Skaggs, DeSoto; a sister, Virginia Snyder, Rockport, Tex.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
