Coleen Kay Babbitt

Mrs. Babbitt died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, in Overbrook.

She was born March 17, 1960, in Topeka, the daughter of Victor and Dorothy (Miller) Reece. She attended Overbrook Grade School and graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1978. She then attended Emporia State University.

Mrs. Babbitt farmed southeast of Overbrook with her husband. Mrs. Babbitt was a member of Overbrook United Methodist Church and had been active on the after-prom committee for several years. She taught swimming classes and coached girls’ volleyball and softball for several years.

She married Alan Dale Babbitt on Aug. 15, 1981, in Overbrook. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Randall Alan Babbitt, Ryan Dean Babbitt and Casey Dale Babbitt, all of the home; a daughter, Brenna Kay Babbitt, of the home; her parents, Overbrook; six brothers, Mike Reece, Tim Reece and Kevin Reece, all of Overbrook, Bill Reece, Lebanon, Neb., Ed Reece, Winfield, and Jim Reece, Clay Center; and a sister, Kathleen Lee, Overbrook.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the church, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
