Dorothy J. Reynolds

Oskaloosa Services for Dorothy J. Reynolds, 90, Oskaloosa, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Oskaloosa. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.

Mrs. Reynolds died Friday, May 3, 2002, at her home.

She was born January 30, 1912, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Van T. and Else Mae Irwin Cotton. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1929 and attended Emporia Teachers College.

She received her licensed practicing nurse degree in Chicago.

She had lived in Oskaloosa for 70 years, moving there from Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. Reynolds was a licensed practicing nurse and served as the director and administrator of the Fairview Nursing Home in rural Oskaloosa from 1956 until her retirement in 1970.

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Oskaloosa, and a former member of the A.M.E. Church in Oskaloosa.

She also served as a volunteer for many years at the Oskaloosa Thrift Store.

Survivors include two sons, James V. Reynolds, South Pasadena, Calif., and Warren Henry Reynolds, St. Louis; a stepson, Leonard Reynolds, Kansas City, Mo.; and a grandson.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
