To the editor:

Last Thursday, I experienced a most delightful program at Free State High school.

Over 200 students ranging in age from sixth grade to high school put on a presentation that can only be described as sensational. The North Area Strings Concert concluded with a grand finale of “America the Beautiful,” in which all four sections of the concert participated in unison.

The gym at Free State was filled to standing room-only capacity. The work displayed by the four conductors was rewarded by a standing ovation. As a parent of one of the younger violinists, I am in awe of the tremendous progress this program has made in one year.

Congratulations to the wonderful instructors, and many thanks for a year of awesome growth.
