The president of Barton County Community College has accepted a similar post in Illinois.

Veldon Law announced Thursday that he’s leaving Great Bend to become president of Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Ill.

Law will succeed retiring President Dr. James Howard July 1.

“This community is full of good people and I’ve established many long-term professional and personal relationships with them,” Law said. “This decision didn’t come easy to me.”
