Bobby D. Hensley

? Services for Bobby D. Hensley, 61, Tonganoxie, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tonganoxie Christian Church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Abilene Cemetery, Abilene.

Mr. Hensley died Friday, March 29, 2002, at his home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1940, in Salina, the son of Earl and Dorothy (McLane) Hensley. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1959 and received his bachelor degree from Baker University and his master’s degree from Fort Hays State University.

Mr. Hensley was a certified scuba diving instructor, a soccer coach, and for 17 years was band director for USD 464 in Tonganoxie. He then served as computer teacher and coordinator.

He married Laura Horning on June 3, 1972, in Gaylord. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Ryan, Lawrence, and Aaron, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; his mother, Dorothy Brooks, Denver; a half-brother, Kevin Brooks, Denver; and a half-sister, Melanie Eve, Port Orange, Fla.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie. The family suggests memorials in his name to the Tonganoxie Christian Church, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie 66086.
